About the Bloggers—Fall 2011

Marine Bodinaud is a PhD candidate in French at the University of Connecticut. She is an instructor for “FREN 3250: Global Culture French 1.” She works as an editorial assistant for CF&FS: SITES. Her research interests include Contemporary French and Francophone Literatures.

Eda Dedebas is a 5^th-year Ph.D. student in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Connecticut. She is from Turkey. She completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees in English at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. She has taught and assisted course on writing, world literature, mythology, Greek and Roman civilization. She assisted Professor Roger Travis in an online class in Classical Mythology. In Fall 2011, she is teaching her own course CLCS 1103 W (Languages and Cultures) for the first time. She speaks Turkish, English, German and has a reading knowledge of Spanish. Her research interests are intertextuality, travel writing, Anglophone literature.

Barbara Lindsey has directed the Multimedia Language Center at the University of Connecticut since 1996 and given presentations and workshops on Internet-based language instruction at the state and national level. She has twelve years experience teaching German language and literature at the university level, and for the private business sector as well as after school enrichment programs. She has served as project director on three federally funded grants and is a past president of the Connecticut Council of Language Teachers (2004-2006).

Soledad Romero is a Spanish Teaching Assistant and Graduate student of  Spanish Literature and Culture in Uconn. In her city of origin, Murcia (Spain), she has worked as English teacher in high schools for two years. Also in Spain, she studied Journalism and Translation and Interpreting, spending 9 months as an exchange student in the University Jean Moulin, in Lyon, France.

Lois S. Ramirez is a 2nd year Spanish MA student at the Literatures Cultures and Language department at the University of Connecticut. She is currently a Teaching Assistant with the LCL department in Spanish.

Rosario Pollicino is an Italian Teaching Assistant and a Graduate student in the Italian Language and Culture program at UCONN. He has a B.A. degree in modern languages (English and French) from the University of Palermo (his hometown) Italy. He completed also a M.A. degree in Teaching Italian as a second language at the University of Siena, Italy. Amongst his academic interests related to modern and contemporary Italian literature and culture  he has also  the use of technology with the arts and in particular the online teaching of languages and literature.
